Books, books, and too many books?

My library has a limit on how many books you can have checked out at one time.  Who knew?  Now I do.  I reached it!  And now I’m trying to figure out how in the world I have 100 books checked out.  Of course, that number didn’t include the 15 or so we brought back today that have not been checked in yet.  My goodness though, we need to get reading, although I’ll admit I have been stockpiling books for the next few weeks of history.  I’m just so thankful we can renew our books online (twice!) so when I can’t find one, I don’t panic over late fees and I must say we haven’t lost a book yet.

I also figured out that when transferring money from one bank account to another, it really, really helps to put it in the right column of the check register.  I transferred $480 dollars between accounts to pay some bills with, plus DH had tons of overtime on his last check, and I’ve been freaking out for several days over the fact that we don’t have enough money in the account to even pay the bills, let alone have extra from the overtime to start our Christmas shopping with.  Finally in bed last night, it dawned on me that not only did I not add in $480, I had actually subtracted it from the balance.  So I’m much happier today now that we’re $960 ahead of where I thought we were.  All is well.

I don’t know where I read this tip, but Windex really does work on getting stains out of carpet.  My living room looks so much better!  It doesn’t smell really great for the first hour or so, but the stains come out.  It’s amazing.

And last but not least, D is feeling much better.  He perked up last night, wanted to say the dinner prayer, and actually ate some pizza.  He feels like a feather to pick up, I’m sure he’s lost some weight from not eating for 48+ hours.  But he’s back to his happy self.  I’m so glad.

My husband was shocked that the library allows us to have as many books as we have in our library basket right now. :o ) LOL Thank goodness for libraries!

48 hours? That must have been hard to watch. I hate when my kids are sick for longer than a day. 100 books? Wow, do you take a wagon to the library? One of my homeschooling friends takes a wagon and a laundry basket with her (she has 7 kids).

I’ve often wished for a librarian to handle all of my books and bookshelves for me.

I take a bag to the library, then I feel limited. We can check books out for 4 weeks plus renewals and we usually go at least once a week and get 15 more. So it adds up. I’m always planning ahead so I hold on to books for more than a week at a time. I do try to turn in more books than I check out on any given day, though it rarely works that way.

It’s been fun to read what you’ve been up to for the last week, although I was sad to read that D was sick. I’m glad he is feeling better. There is nothing like finding out you have more money than you thought you had! I wish that would happen to me more often. About the library books…I think I’ve got to be one of their best supporters with the late fees I contribute. :D Hope you have a great week!
