C turned eleven last Tuesday! He’s been counting down for weeks, and fiiiiiiiiinally it was his birthday! Staying true to form, he managed to spread out the celebrations over several days. Monday night we went to the Hollywood Connection for some mini-golf and roller skating.
Then Tuesday morning, we went to Kneader’s downtown for breakfast and found out that they give a free pastry to people on their birthdays. (Note to self: remember that!) So besides the egg/sausage/cheese croissant sandwich, C also got a cinnamon roll.
We went to book club after that while DH finished up a few things at work before taking the afternoon off. C wanted to watch some Clone Wars episodes while A set up an elaborate treasure hunt that sent C all the way around the block to find the clues to his presents. He got some Hobbit legos and a Studio C t-shirt plus cards and $$ from Nana and Great-grandma J.
We had his favorite chicken/broccoli casserole (yes, really, he loves it!) and chocolate cake for dessert, then he went to his last day of cub scouts with D. Since I had an orchestra rehearsal that I couldn’t miss that night, he requested that we watch The Fellowship of the Ring on Wednesday night instead.
We are so thankful to have you in our family, C! Your smile and enthusiasm for life light up every room you enter. I hope you’re having an amazing time in Washington, D.C., with Grandma and Poppa this week!
